Saumitra Jha

Saumitra Jha does research on economic, financial and organizational approaches to mitigating political polarization and conflict. He is an associate professor of political economy at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, and by courtesy, of economics and political science, a senior fellow at the Freeman-Spogli Institute for International Affairs and the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, a faculty fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences and convenes the Stanford Conflict and Polarization Lab.

Jha holds a BA summa cum laude from Williams College, master’s degrees in economics and mathematics from the University of Cambridge, and a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University.
