Getting Around New Haven

The Yale Transportation Options website is a central location where you can visit to help you make transportation decisions that best serve you.

You can easily walk and bike throughout New Haven but there are also Yale Shuttles that transport students, faculty and staff around campus, as well as city buses if you need to reach further locations.

Yale also has a bike share program, as well as a car share program called Zip Car.

Yale Shuttle

The Yale University Shuttle is a free service that is available to all students, staff and faculty.

Here is a map of the areas served by the Yale shuttle.  You can also view the Yale Shuttle buses in real-time.

For mobile access, download the DoubleMap app from the Apple Store or Google Play.

  • The daytime shuttle operates from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • The nighttime shuttle operates from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am, seven days a week. The nighttime service runs on a scheduled route around the campus and does off-route drop offs.

For detailed information about the shuttle services, visit the Getting Around Yale Shuttle Information website.
