Patricia Evangelista is a trauma journalist and a former investigative reporter for Philippine news organization Rappler. Her reporting on armed conflict, human rights abuses and disaster has been the recipient of multiple local and international awards for exceptional journalism. She was a recipient of the Whiting Creative Nonfiction Grant and a fellow of the John Logan Nonfiction Program, the Marshall McLuhan Fellowship, the New America Fellows Program, and the Civitella Ranieri Fellowship. Her book, Some People Need Killing, forthcoming from Random House in October 2023, investigates the deadly drug war under former President Rodrigo Duterte. She lives in Manila.
