Ekin Can Goksoy is a PhD candidate at the History Department in Bogaziçi University. His research focuses on the emergence of urban culture, society, and “middle classes” in the Ottoman Empire. He received his BSc in Electrical-Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University and his MA in Cultural Studies from Istanbul Bilgi University. He published a story collection, Münhal (2014), and a novel, Epope Tatavla (2016), both by İletişim Yayınları Publishing. In 2015, he participated as a writer in Acting Together, an EU Armenia-Turkey Reconciliation Project. He has conducted storytelling performances in Istanbul and San Francisco, within the Artship Foundation since 2017. He opened his first exhibition A Chance for a Miracle at poşe artspace, Istanbul in 2018. In 2020, he has been writer-in-residence in the Camargo Foundation in France, supported by Institut français de Turquie, Embassy of the Netherlands, Goethe-Institut and Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts; co-facilitated the Garp Sessions research program, which brings together writers and thinkers; and, he was chosen for Arter Research Program, funded by Vehbi Ko Foundation. Also, Goksoy writes on cinema at FilmLoverss since 2015.
